The Board of Cotton Australia has decided to reduce the voluntary levy by 25 percent for this season, from $2 per bale to $1.50 per bale (plus GST), in recognition of the organisation’s sound financial position. The reduction has been enabled by recent larger crop sizes and sound financial management – but could be further reduced if more growers participated. Cotton Australia thanks those growers who pay the voluntary levy, and also asks them to please encourage the non-levy payers to contribute their share. While the levy is voluntary, all growers benefit from the hard work of Cotton Australia. As in previous years, Cotton Australia will recognise levy payers who participate when signing their ginning contracts for the upcoming season – it is only with their support that our organisation can keep operating and working on behalf of growers.
